Commercial Products

What the public buys in volume, we shape — the product and the process alike.

What does Commercial Product mean?

A product, such as an item, material, component, subsystem, or system sold or traded to the general public.

Rapt's Commercial Products Department is tasked with creating items and processes for mass production. Virtually any tangible item for consumer use.

Some of the best-selling products of all time — PlayStation, Lipitor, the Toyota Corolla, the Mario franchise, and iPad — span consoles, pharmaceuticals, vehicles, games, and tablets. To illustrate, Rapt would develop and sell three kinds of work for products like these, built from recycled inputs where they apply: components — casings and housings for consoles and tablets, blister packs and bottles for pharmaceuticals, interior trim and textiles for vehicles; manufacturing equipment and processes — the machinery and tooling that mass-produce them, such as pharmaceutical production lines for a drug like Lipitor; and promotional goods — toys, stationery, in-store displays and kiosks, and full launch packages. Each tooled for mass production, without compromise on quality.

The department does not just support other businesses — it also develops its own consumer goods for home and office use. These are the small personal things most likely used every day. Rapt may have a sink that makes doing the dishes easier, is better for the environment, and looks good enough to make you almost want to use it more often.
